Ten High Farewell Show w/ Brian Capps

After almost 7 years of making music, playing for people who shared their love for honest tunes, and spinning memories while crooning their countrified rock n roll, Ten High will be playing its final show Friday, Feb. 19th at The Gramophone.  It’s been a wild ride and we want to celebrate the evening with our supportive followers!

This set will include the entire Country Hamfisting album, as well as classic Ten High numbers you can stomp yer feet to!  We’re also hoping for a few guest appearances by folks who have played with Ten High over the years and contributed to the album.

If you haven’t gotten your copy of the album, every Ten High fan will receive a CD after the show - just swing by & ask the band for one!

Thank you all for your support and encouragement over the years.  We look forward to one more round of raucous fun with you!

Strawfoot w/ Waterstreet

“There is a dark side to “Americana” and Strawfoot might be the premiere storytellers of that underbelly.” -Jim Utz, Vintage Vinyl

Come catch gothic country act Strawfoot!

Stawfoot Myspace

Originally formed by the two front-men lead guitarists, Evan Hand and Joe Shadid, WATERSTREET has evolved into a 4-piece rock band with bassist, Mike Crusen, and drummer, Rob Gould. Their popularity in the midwest is growing at a rapid rate. The years of writing music and playing gigs has set WATERSTREET apart from many other bands their age. WATERSTREET fans run the gamut, from expert musicians to the most novice music fan. The band’s youth is key in connecting with a teen audience, while their knowledge of music attracts an older crowd who is impressed with the group’s classic sound. No matter where they perform, a person will never see an unenthusiastic live show by WATERSTREET.

Oakhurst

oakhurstTake a string band and swap out the mandolin player for a groovy drummer and you’re well on your way to understanding the sound of Oakhurst. The band spikes traditional bluegrass with rock & roll and a kamikaze rhythmic sensibility. That danceable concoction along with banjo vs. fiddle shootouts, three part harmonies, and citybilly swagger keeps the band in high demand. Oakhurst’s unpretentious, go-for-it interpretation of a genre that’s often handled too reverently, sparks interest in bluegrass by folks who don’t know Doc Watson from Doc Holliday.

Woodbox Gang

woodboxgang-1From the village of Makanda in extreme southern Illinois, in a little hollow called Vulture Valley, comes a “caustic acoustic cacophony” known as the Woodbox Gang. They have skillfully combined the American roots music styles of bluegrass, delta blues, folk, and traditional country with the aggressive delivery of punk rock to create their own style of music to which they have given the name “Trashcan Americana.”

The Corduroy (Fort Collins, CO)

Drawing from Rock, Funk, and Bluegrass, Fort Collins’ The Corduroy has established a foundation of unique compositions that enable them to entertain a wide variety of music patrons. One simply has to take the time to see this act live to see their honest, original mix of these styles paired with their propensity to explode on stage. Having already generated a huge buzz in their home state of Colorado, The Corduroy has begun to stretch its wings into the Mid-West and South. In May they will tour these markets, culminating with appearances at Wakarusa Music Festival with The Black Crowes and Matisyahu and Summer Camp Music Festival with Willie Nelson and Moe. In August, they will perform at the 20th annual New West Fest in Fort Collins, and will be back in the studio come fall. Electric performances, extensive touring and a new album make this one of the hottest bands to watch in 2009.
