The Lowdown Brass Band

The Lowdown Brass Band, hailing from Chicago, IL, is a nine-piece, horn-driven ensemble with strong roots in the New Orleans 2nd Line Tradition. A fierce sousaphone sets the foundation for trumpets, trombones and saxophones to intertwine in a cacophony of tight lead lines, spontaneous call-and-response and bombastic brass attacks. While taking a page from the jazz and blues giants of the past, the LDB melds modern funk, hip-hop, reggae and pop into a unique new style. Lowdown forges new ground with original compositions that challenge the listener and player alike, breaking down the barrier between performer and audience.

Hazard To Ya Booty Myspace

Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Hazard To Ya Booty fuses elements of funk, rock, hip-hop and soul to make a head-bobbing sound that’s guaranteed to get the crowd moving and sweating. If Hazard could inject any more energy into their live shows it would create an audio supernova and the room would be in danger of being sucked into a funky black hole. Starting out in MO at Truman State University in 2000 and making a huge splash on the local college scene, Hazard has gone through various line up changes since but all the while stayed true to its core principal: Gettin’ that booty moovin’.
