Harptallica, CDW, Allgorithms
Harptallica started in early 2006 when Ashley Toman, a graduate student at the Eastman School of Music decided to arrange “Fade to Black” for two harps. Somehow this turned into nine Metallica Songs and a full CD recorded by Toman and fellow Eastman grad Patricia Kline. Originally they weren’t even planning on really selling the CD, just distributing to family and friends, but demands for the CD to be made available to the public soon followed. The band was also requested to tour and has been doing so since 2007.

Click to playKDHX FM 88.1 welcomes John Mooney (recently featured on Treme!)
Throughout the years John Mooney has developed one of the most distinctive and easily identifiable guitar and vocal signatures of anyone alive today. Part of the original impetus for his interest in music may have filtered down from his grandfather, a musician himself. “He used to play the mandolin and banjo back in the 20’s” says Mooney. “He even cut a couple of 78’s for the Peerless label that I’ve heard. It was really hot stuff, a kind of raggy jazz.“

Troubadour Dali/Ocean Rivals/Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor
Troubadour Dali – Best indie band, 2010 RFT Music Awards!
“Good things come to those with patience. Troubadour Dali’s long-awaited new album captures the band’s dreamy psych-pop live sound to a tee. Lysergic guitars stretch out lazily, like a kite wending in the wind or a good morning stretch; stacks of harmonies and hints of distortion further add to the blissed-out psychedelic atmosphere. Unlike kindred souls such as the Warlocks, Brian Jonestown Massacre or the Verve, however, Troubadour Dali’s vocals are never bored or detached — which makes its songs that much more approachable.” – Annie Zaleski, Riverfront Times
