Chicago Board of Comedy featuring Rob Belushi

Five Chicago-based actors performing as The Chicago Board of Comedy will offer a night of sketch and improvisational comedy at The Gramophone on Thurs Feb 11th

The group will include Rob Belushi, who has had a recurring guest role on the sitcom According to Jim and who will appear in the upcoming motion picture Valentine’s Day. Belushi is the son of actor Jim Belushi and the nephew of late actor John Belushi. Current members and alumni of acclaimed comedy troops The Second City, iO Chicago, ComedySportz, Baby Wants Candy and All Sorts of Trouble for the Boy in the Bubble will round out the cast.
The Gramophone will offer two shows for this special engagement. The first will begin at 8 p.m., and the late show will begin at 10 p.m. Doors for the 8 p.m. show will open at 7 p.m., and doors for the 10 p.m. show will open at 9:30 p.m. The 8 p.m. show will be 18+, while the late show will be 21+.
Each show will cost $15 at the door, $12 pre sale.

Information

We are located at 4243 Manchester Avenue, between Tower Grove Ave. and Boyle Ave., in the Grove. There is a free city-owned parking lot located just west of the building and ample street parking along Manchester.

We are open weekly Wednesday through Saturday nights, from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. on weekends. We are also open on Monday and Tuesday for special events (please check the calendar for listings)

While we make every effort to present live music every night that we are open, occasionally the right show for the night just doesn't come through in time. On these nights, we are open to the public with no cover and offer crazy drink specials!

We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We do not accept checks.

We are a 21+ venue and non-smoking.

We offer a full bar, including draft, bottle and can beers; wines by the glass and bottle; and classic and signature cocktails.

"I recently caught up with Bayou boogie guitarist Tab Benoit (ben-wah) who will take his lively blues band to the Gramophone’s stage Thursday. The award-winning bluesman grew up in the smallish town of Houma in South Louisiana, where many of the roads dead end at the Gulf of Mexico. His heritage shines through in his lyrics and his deep Louisiana-flavored voice. Outside of his 200-plus tour dates each year, Benoit heads Voice of the Wetlands, a group working to restore Louisiana’s wetlands. Benoit’s latest CD is a live recording titled, “Night Train to Nashville.”
